The OC Society is delighted that the 1st XV have reached the final of the Danske Bank Schools’ Cup and would like the Team, Coaches & Squad the very best of luck.
The Final will take place at the Kingspan Stadium at 3.00pm on Thursday 17th March.
It would be great if a large number of OCs, family and friends were there to cheer the boys on.
The College has not been provided with any additional tickets to sell, OCs and friends can use the following link to purchase tickets: https://ulster.rugby/tickets
The College has manged to get through to a number of finals this year. The Medallion/U15s side defeated Ballymena Academy in the Medallion Shield Final last week, the Seconds sadly lost their Final and Thirds won their Final against Ballyclare High School. The 1st XV are through to their 4th Schools’ Cup Final in the last 6 years. To have had such success at four different levels is an achievement in itself, but it’s not enough for Campbell, who have their sights set on the match against MCB.
Joint-Captain Tom Crowther explained this to the Belfast Telegraph “Campbell’s a very special place because of the culture and the importance of the Schools’ Cup. Succeeding in it and the Medallion Shield is great, and to be able to get to the final of both of those is great. At the end of the day we want to win those finals — that’s success for us: adding to the trophy case. We know it’s great getting to this stage but the important thing is we get over the line and deliver some more trophies.”
Felow Joint-Captain, hooker Zac Solomon, agreed, adding: “It’s what we expected from the start of the season, it’s where we want to be and it’s the goal of this team. The buzz about the team is very good and we have the right mindset about what we want to do."
We wish them well on Paddy's Day!
