Last month, the U13 and U14 teams travelled to Edinburgh for an exciting hockey tour. The adventure began with a training session at the Peffermill National Hockey Academy, led by Scottish team players Neil Allen and Jamie Croll. After a quick lunch, the teams travelled to Perth to face Strathallan School in their picturesque grounds. The U14XI team triumphed with a 5-0 victory, while the U13XI team faced a tough defeat. The day concluded with an enjoyable evening at Fountain Park, where the boys had food and amusements.
The second day started with another productive training session at Peffermill, featuring impressive drag flicking techniques demonstrated by Jamie Golden from the Scottish National Team. The boys then embarked on a whirlwind tour of Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile before heading to Merchiston Castle. After a warm welcome and a delightful lunch, the teams had some downtime in the boarding recreation room. The U14XI team secured an 8-0 win, and the U13XI team drew 2-2. The day ended with a delicious dinner at Cosmo.
On the final day, the teams played against George Watson’s College at Merchiston. Both teams showcased fantastic hockey skills, securing wins to conclude a successful tour. The boys enjoyed lunch and ten-pin bowling at Fountain Park before heading to the airport for their flight home. Throughout the tour, the boys represented the College with pride and sportsmanship. Well done to all!
