At Campbell, our commitment to the holistic development of every boy is at the heart of everything we do. Wellbeing is more than just happiness; it's about fostering physical, emotional, and mental health to prepare our boys for life's challenges. Last week, we proudly hosted our first-ever Wellbeing Week, led by our dedicated Wellbeing Committee and Wellbeing Ambassadors. The week was filled with activities focused on five key aspects of wellbeing: Be Active, Keep Learning, Take Notice, Connect, and Give.

Saturday, 5th April: Stormont ParkRun
We kicked off Wellbeing Week with a fantastic community run at Stormont Park. It was wonderful to see so many students, parents, staff, and governors come together for a morning of physical activity and community spirit. Your enthusiasm and participation truly set the tone for the week ahead!

Monday, 7th April: Be Active
The official start of Wellbeing Week focused on promoting physical health and mental wellbeing through various activities. Students participated in rounders, dodgeball, football, and indoor games like table tennis, darts, and pool. The energy and excitement were palpable, and it was a great way to encourage everyone to stay active.

Tuesday, 8th April: Keep Learning
The theme "Keep Learning" encouraged students to expand their knowledge and skills through engaging workshops. Years 8 and 9 participated in sessions covering various interests and topics, fostering a love for learning and personal growth. From photography and golf to traditional music and survival camping, the boys explored new skills and hobbies, making the day a huge success.

Wednesday, 9th April: Take Notice
On "Take Notice" day, students and staff were encouraged to put away their phones and engage more deeply with their surroundings and each other. The Sixth Form Assembly featured Jake Flannery and Tom O’Toole from Ulster Rugby, who provided valuable insights into mental health and emotional resilience as part of the 'Tackle Your Feelings' programme. Their Q&A session was a highlight, covering topics like stress management and balancing sports with academics.

Thursday, 10th April: Connect
The focus on "Connect" was all about building relationships and fostering community spirit. Year 11 students attended CRUSE Bereavement Workshops, learning valuable skills for supporting themselves and others through times of loss. The Collaborative Art Project allowed students and staff to express their creativity, while the annual Daffodil Tea brought together elderly residents from the local community for music performances and Bingo, embodying the spirit of connection.

Friday, 11th April: Give
The final day of Wellbeing Week celebrated the theme of "Give" with a variety of exciting activities. Pupils enjoyed a non-uniform day, a bun sale, and KS3 House activities, including the Year 8 House Singing competition. The ultimate splash showdown, where pupils threw wet sponges at brave teachers, was a fun and memorable event. All money raised went to Aware NI, supporting mental health across Northern Ireland.

As we reflect on our first Wellbeing Week, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our Wellbeing Committee, Wellbeing Ambassadors, and everyone who participated. The week was a testament to our commitment to fostering a balanced approach to life for our boys. Thank you for your support, and let's carry forward the positive energy and wellbeing practices we've embraced.
