On Sunday 23rd March, Campbell College hosted a special event to celebrate a Century of Scouting in East Belfast.
This included a parade from Stormont to Campbell College, led by our Campbell College Pipes and Drums Band, and included all of the sections of East Belfast District Scouts. This was followed by a service in our Central Hall, and a reception for District Leaders past and present.
The historic flag from 61st Belfast Campbell College was carried into the Central Hall by sixth form pupil Calum, followed by the flag bearers of all other sections.
A display of historic photographs, badges, trophies and books was organised by our Archive Engagement Officer, and many troops brought items to share as well. Some highlights included the Scout Medal of Merit presented to Miss Clements, and the patrol flag of the first Campbell Scout group nicknamed the ‘Corncrakes’.
