Reunions and Events |
Worth waiting for...the answer from those OCs & Guests who attended the rescheduled Annual Dinner on Friday night was a resounding "yes"!
Unfortunately the numbers who attended on Friday the 10th of June were impacted upon by the rescheduling as a number of planned reunions & tables didn’t quite materialise, but well done to those OCs who tried to get them there and to those who succeeded.
There was however, a 60th Reunion for the Class of 1962, a 50th Reunion for the Class of 1972, a 20th for the Schools’ Cup winning team of 2002, a decent effort for a 10th Reunion of the Class of 2012 and several table who had a blast!
This was the first OC event to be held at the College since February 2020 and the attendees had a hoot. Diners were entertained in the Central Hall by the College Pipes & Drums before being piped in to Dinner in the Dining Hall. The President, Michael McAllister (7444) welcomed the attendees before Dermot Parker (7467) said Grace. Following a yummy starter the President Proposed a Toast to the Society & College to which the Headmaster, Robert Robinson replied.
After a delicious main course Chris McNally (9672), the Vice President, introduced the Guests and having Proposed a Toast to them, Ben Lowry (7500) then replied on behalf of the Guests.
The speeches were (short) well received, both informative and amusing & enthusiastically applauded! And more than £1,100.00 (& 20 Euros) was collected for The Henry James Campbell Bursary - thank you.
The next event is the Presidents Lunch on Friday the 29th of July and you can book your place(s) here.
Thank you to the sponsors of the Annual Dinner: Faceware Science, Nelson Radiology and RODGERS & BROWNE
