Reunions and Events |
The Annual Dinner returned to its usual date of mid-February and the first Friday of the College Half Term saw diners meeting up in the Dining Hall for pre-dinner drinks.
Attendance didn’t quite reach the 100 mark, but those who did make the effort to attend had a great night! There was a 50th Reunion for the Class of 1973, a 40th Reunion for the Class of 1983, and a 25th Reunion for the Class of 1998 as well as a number of regualt attenders and Tables - well done on supporting the Society and attending.
Diners were called to Dinner by the College Bugle Major Harry Murphy, shortly after which the President, Chris McNally (9672) and the Guests filed in and took up their places at the Top Table, orchestrated and introduced by Julie Brown (7062), the Vice President. Luke Weatherald, the Deputy Head Boy then said Grace.
After a delicious Starter & Main Course provided by Posh Nosh, Chris McNally spoke very well before Proposing a Toast to the Society & College to which the Headmaster, Robert Robinson replied to and updated attendees on the College.
Following Pudding Julie Brown proposed a Toast to the Guests and Chris McNally introduced the Chief Guest, Robbie Diack, ex Ireland & Ulster Rugby Player who then replied on behalf of the Guests. Following the conclusion of what can only be described as an excellent Speech everyone rose to their feet to applaud Robbie Diack!
An envelope collection for The Henry James Campbell Bursary raised almost £800.00 to date with a number of individuals stating that they would donate on-line, thank you.
The next events are London OCs on Friday the 10th of March followed by Presidents Lunch on Friday the 28th. Details will be on the website in the Events Section once confirmed.
Thank you again to the sponsors of the Annual Dinner, please support them: Faceware Science, Nelson Radiology and RODGERS & BROWNE
